Hello my name is Skylar Mitchell. I am currently a freshman at Indiana University Northwest. I am taking a Professional Writing Class, and it is teaching me a lot about writing. Learning how to construct memos, resumes, and letter of complaints will not just help me for this class, but in the real world. We don’t realize how important writing is until we come across it. My skills change and improve daily; I notice the more assignments I do and practice, the better my grades become. I specifically learned some helpful techniques on editing. I like to have multiple people read my papers to see if I missed an error. I also like to go over my reading daily, because I notice after a long day it is common to miss a typo or error. I can vouch for myself that I am becoming a better editor and writer while taking my professional writing class.
